Small Group Questions – Connect With Others

WORSHIP RESOURCES

Connecting with others in Christ has often contemporarily been referred to as community. Fellowship has been the classical reference to this description and meant historically that companionship in shared ideas and values or rich friendship engaged in deep action. Fellowship describes a relationship based upon moral and personal commitment. Christian community is a spiritual family, not merely a social network. Our culture has moved away from this idea and on to the idea that faith is merely personal, which has actually been most effective destroyer of personal faith. It is not something we can overcome without thinking of the church and ourselves in a totally different way. When we understand our connection with God and his people, family finds its proper place and purpose.
