There are three feelings or attitudes, common among our culture, expressed about the Bible. Modern cynicism, the Bible is too old and cannot help us now or in the future. A feeling of intimidation, the Bible is hard to understand and difficult to read. Knowing the Bible has great value, knowing it and studying it can be the greatest decision you ever make. It is the decision that an individual makes to read the Bible for themselves is when they begin to know Christ and follow him as well as finding out who there are in him. When this happens cynicism usually decreases, they find that the Bible is what it claims to be and does what it claims to do. It is the written word of God, and it makes the simple wise.
